There’s a bird’s nest on my head

I have some time to kill before my next class starts in just over an hour. Nope, I don’t get this lovely little break usually; I’m skipping Italian. :X I guess with the semester almost ending, I’m really losing my motivation. I have to keep pushing though… I still have two papers and two exams left in my “Evaluating Information” class. You would think with only a month left of school they would have planned that a little better, eh?

I decided to put my hair up in a cool little mock bun with a slightly teased top and a twisty thing down below. It stayed for like two minutes before starting to fall down. 😛 My friend Maddy thinks it still looks good with a couple pieces hanging down behind my ears, so I’m just going to leave it because I can’t be bothered to put MORE bobby pins in and I don’t really want to take it down, but maaan. I wish my hair would grow a little faster.

I just discovered last week that my hair is now long enough to put into a ponytail. No more feeling silly wearing a half-ponytail to the gym! I was so excited that I texted like three people about it. I don’t think any of them cared quite as much as me. 😛

I just got up to look at the back of my hair in a mirror. I think I’m way too concerned about this poor little hair style. If it falls down more before I leave for my next class (it shouldn’t if I would just STOP TOUCHING IT), I guess I’ll just stick it up in a ponytail and let the top stay teased up. It’s the twisty back thing that’s giving me issues.

Anyway, I’ve been having so much fun experimenting with my hair now that I’ve realized it’s long enough for a ponytail, which means it’s long enough for a lot of other things as well. If you don’t mind, I’d like to show you what I did Tuesday that I thought was super fun. 🙂

Tuesday's hair

While we’re at it, I might as well show you what I did today, yeah? And you can decide for yourself whether the fallen pieces look stupid as hell. 😛

Boy it’s hard to take pictures of the back of my head.

I go back and forth between “It looks so cool omgzzz” and “Rachel, take it down. Now.” I guess I’ll leave it up…

Go ahead and tell me it sucks so I can never do it again. 🙂

  1. I think that you should try it again when your hair gets longer. It’s really messy because of a lot of little pieces sticking out here and there that don’t quite reach as far as they should.

How do you manage to run at the gym with a half ponytail? Doesn’t your neck get really sweaty?

  2. Keep your motivation going strong& push on to finishing those classes for the final month! It’s something you can bear with, it’s something that’s worth your future. Then again, in the university life, they expect you plan things yourself. -__-

I love the way you have your hair done up! I wish I could do something similar with my hair, but I’m just really bad with bobby pins and twisting/turning my hair up. It’s a problem when you’re indecisive about your hair length!

If your mind’s switching on and off on the idea, keep playing around with them styles! You’ll get to something you only adore one day XD.

Having the arts program being cut is depressing to hear because it’s also one of those things that helps get students off the streets and into a sanctuary… That’s the case with where I’m at– at least. But I’m glad I’m a senior- though I wish I’m a couple of years older because budget cuts are hurting college admissions too!

I’m seeing a lot of underclassmen this year failing at least 2 of their classes.. I’m just really discouraged with that (since I was on the same boat last year). Learning my lesson, I’m just working hard this year :X. I haven’t heard anything from colleges yet, but I’m getting there.

We’re all getting close to the end of the school year!

  3. RE: I’m trying to learn Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” on the guitar.

I didn’t notice the falling parts of your hair until you actually pointed them out. XD I feel indifferent about them. It doesn’t really matter if they’re down or up for me.

I used to have really short hair, too…Mainly because I cut it by myself. But it was okay, since it didn’t look so bad. It’s grown pretty fast since then, since I can tie it up now.

  4. Sometimes it’s hard to keep motivation for things. But look on the bright side, you don’t have too much longer. My hair is seeming to grow out so fast – but I keep forgetting I haven’t had a trim since early December. With the weather trying to warm up and stay warm I can’t wait to put clippers to my head and get rid of the nasty shaggy sides.
