Food and Running and Tumblr and RESTING

I have a stupidly insatiable appetite today.

I think it’s because I ran 16 miles over the course of the last two days. My body is still catching up.

I forget sometimes that my body doesn’t know the difference between weeks. My mind knows that Sunday is the end of one running week and Monday is the beginning of the next, but my body doesn’t know that Monday’s 8 miles counted for this week and Sunday’s 9 counted for last. It just thinks, “What are you doing running 8 miles today???”

In retrospect it was a stupid idea and I won’t be doing that again any time soon. Honor the rest days, Rachel. Honor them.

I think I’m finally done eating.

Remember when Tumblr was new and I made an account? Summer 2008? No?

Well I made another one (my first was deleted long ago). Follow me if you so choose. I mostly post about running. Big surprise there.

It’s warm and it’s raining and I want to go run. Rest day rest day rest day HONOR IT. Seriously.

  1. Detailed and adequate post title! ๐Ÿ˜€

I loved this line: “Honor the rest days, Rachel. Honor them.” (Also just spent a second longer than necessary trying to locate that emoticon.)

It’s funny that your acronyms/initialisms plugin changed underlined put a note on “IT” in “HONOR IT”.

I’m the opposite right now though, my appetite is just blech. (I would have loved to use a cool word like insatiable but as you can see, I am out.) I haven’t been feeling hungry at all lately and smells and tastes of even food I like has been making me sick. I think we are going through odd phases. ๐Ÿ™

But I’m still proud of you for running! And going places. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I think that happens to me all the time. My body just naturally does hungry, even when it hasn’t earned it! I think the best approach is to listen and feed it (healthfully).

  3. Ahhhhhhhhh! Resting. The most glorious day of the week. I would really honor them because it just lasts for a day or two and you get back jumping in the routine again.

Eat, eat, eat! It’s okay to eat as many as you can as long as you can burn the calories you took the time you run. My mom lost over 10 pounds under this exercise program but still eats regularly with no meal skips and starvation, yet she burns it the next day she exercises.

Satisfy your body and hunger and HONOR the rest days. Haha! I also love that line like Georgie does. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I don’t think that I had heard of Tumblr until 2010, and I recently got into it again. My username is flutyocarina if you’re interested.

And yes, do rest sometimes! Not feeling sore is nice sometimes. ๐Ÿ˜›

  5. I am always *starving* after I work out especially after a gruelling session at the gym. Speaking ofโ€ฆ I need to hit the gym next week. I’ve been eating wait too much.

So I followed you on Tumblr ๐Ÿ™‚ (barry-theinvisiblecunt) I mostly spam about television shows and films, though. Haha.

  6. Way to go with all the running girl! Yes, you do need your rest days just like any other athlete. ๐Ÿ™‚

And as for Tumblr, I remember making an account the year before last and just never really getting into it. Now I have gotten into it a bit more and now I spend a good amount of time on it. I just cannot get into Pintrest. I don’t know. My username is ashahleeks if you want to follow me. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. You ran 16 miles?! :O Dang, you are quite the athlete! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Lately, I’ve been biking 4 miles every day to keep my shape up. I never used to exercise much though, so this whole “working out” thing is so new to me! haha xD
