Summer Goals for 2016

I’m not saying this is a return to blogging, but I felt the urge tonight and I’m not going to say no to being inspired to blog for the first time in months.  It has been long enough since I last wrote that it would be absolutely impossible to catch you up on everything, so I’ll just dive right in. Glenn is sitting behind me setting a whole bunch of goals and sub-goals for the rest of the year, neatly categorized into where they fit into his life.  This has reminded me that the summer feels like it is flyingContinue reading

Again a Runner

It has been a long time since I have written about running.  I ran on and off–mostly off–as I worked my way through a string of injuries lasting at least two years.  Every time I thought I was healed, I would go out and hurt myself again.  This time last year, I was in physical therapy for lingering plantar fasciitis.  If you have ever had that, you’ll know it never really goes away.  The PT, plus finally getting a great pair of custom orthotics in June, helped me to be able to walk without pain for the first time inContinue reading

My Second 5K Race

I decided on a whim last week to register for the 5K race that was happening this weekend as part of a marathon in my town. It was a fundraiser for the local public school system, plus I just love to run and I hadn’t run in a race since last October. For those who don’t know, a 5K is a 5km race, or 3.1 miles for you American folk. The race started at 7:30am, so I decided to set my alarm for 5:45 to allow plenty of time to eat, get ready, and walk down to the start ofContinue reading

Days of Coach and Roses

Ever since right around 7th grade (2004, eleven years old) when some of my friends were lucky enough to be given Coach wallets and small purses, I have had a penchant for the brand. All the Coach bags I can remember back then were canvas with colored Cs on them, much like this wallet: Back then, a wallet like that or a small purse went for around $100, if memory serves. Every year for Chanukah, my dad’s parents used to send me $60 in a card, which was a huge amount of money to me back then. That combined withContinue reading

Run Free

I’ve been so productive this weekend it’s not even funny. I think I might even be able to cross everything off my list by the end of today, which is something I have not been able to do in a long time. School and laziness are always getting in the way. Mostly laziness, I guess. I mean, there’s really no reason not to get through everything on a WEEKEND list besides laziness, right? Especially when I usually include schoolwork in my list… Yeah, I just suck. But not today! Georgina and I are doing this thing we’re calling The Seventy-One.Continue reading
